Das lab is interested in understanding the crosstalk between epithelial cells, immune cells and microbes after exposure with toxicants and pathogens that lead to chronic inflammation. Animal models and organoid-based disease models with microbe and immune cells are used to identify early biomarkers involved in the initiation of chronic diseases including IBD, unhealthy aging and cancers. The impact of nutraceuticals and personalized strategies can be predicted to prevent disease progression.
